Terms
- The laptop remains company property at all times.
- The employee is responsible for reasonable care, including physical security and prompt reporting of loss or theft.
- The device must be used in accordance with the organisation's Acceptable Use Policy.
- Full-disk encryption must remain enabled; the employee must not disable security controls.
- Upon termination or role change, the laptop must be returned within 2 business days.
Employee responsibilities
- Keep the device in good working condition
- Install approved security updates within 7 days of notification
- Do not install unapproved software or share credentials
- Report incidents to IT within 24 hours
Return checklist
- Device powered off and physically returned
- Charger and accessories included
- Data backed up by employee (personal files removed)
- IT confirms wipe and inventory update
